This weekend I witnessed a thousand people in a room have a meeting. I was in the room, but hovered above the meeting like a ghost. Watching.<\/p>\n
I had things to do, which I did. But mostly I talked to people in the room having the meeting. I talked with them about the meeting they were having. I knew why they were having it and had intimate knowledge of the things they discussed. I sat at a table watching. I stood in the back watching. I was asked my opinion and commented upon it, but mostly I just watched.<\/p>\n
I will do that this summer at a meeting where ten thousand people will decide things. They’ll be in a room together, with microphones and channels of communication. And they’ll debate and discuss and talk. And I will watch.<\/p>\n
